Stormking Campground
Access: From US HWY 285, travel south approximately 15 miles to the La Garita turnoff. From the turnoff, travel six miles west. Where the road forks, keep right on the gravel Carnero Creek Road 14.5 miles west from Saguache to a gravel road going south at Bodding Creek. Follow Forest road #690 up Houselog Creek and over Carnero Pass. the Campground is 14 miles from Hwy 114 by this route.
Setting and Attractions: The Campground is situated at the base of Stormking Mtn. (elev. 10,849). It lies in an aspen glen amidst rolling and rocky hills on the Middle Fork of Carnero Creek, which has fishing possibilities. Other attractions are big game hunting and 4WD Road #786. Elevation is 9,000 feet.

Considerations: This campground is operated as a full service fee site from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Cost is $5.00 a night. After Labor Day through October 9, the cost is $2.50. Firewood is limited, but please remember to search for only down and dead wood. Please pack out your trash as no refuse receptacles are provided.
